The prestigious 'The Art of Photography Show' which is gonna held at San Diego, US, this year(2011) will be having a sole Indian representative. Vicky Roy, a street child-turned ace art photographer, talent will be show cased at the prestigious 'The Art of Photography Show 2011' later this month.

The chosen photograph, "In all colors and sizes", is from Roy's new photography series "A Better Life".
Roy, 24, originally from Purulia in West Bengal, came to the capital as a runaway kid in 1999. He was then taken care of by Salaam Balak Trust, a large juvenile destitute facility near the New Delhi railway station.
"I fled to Delhi from home in 1999 and found shelter at a non-profit organisation, Salaam Balak Trust, after spending a few months on the streets. I began photography in 2005," Roy said.
He studied photography at the Triveni Kala Sangam and at the International Centre of Photography in New York.
In 2009, he was sponsored for a mentoring programme at the US-based Maybach Foundation by the Ramchander Nath Foundation where he was chosen to photo-document the reconstruction of the World Trade Centre in New York.
The portfolio of the reconstruction that Roy gathered in New York was exhibited at the American Centre in the capital.
"Vicky Roy's is the only work to be chosen from the Indian subcontinent," said Steven Churchill, producer of "The Art of Photography Show".
The event will be held at the Lyceum Theatre Gallery in San Diego from Aug 13 to Oct 23.
