(ANI): Ronak Vitha, a four-and-a-half-year-old boy from Gujarat's Rajkot city has set a record by doing 1,500 push-ups in 40-minutes.
Ronak' s mother Ruchi Vitha said her son's interest in push-ups began, when he just a toddler.
"When he was two years old, we used to practice yoga at home, stretching exercises and he used to perform yoga on his own, something that was very difficult for us to do. That's when we realised that his body is flexible," said Ruchi Vitha.
"Then we made him do one or two push-ups and the next day he did ten on his own," she added.

Remember old LML Vespa ???
The iconic Vespa, which made waves on almost every Indian road for many years, is set for yet another comeback, with comfort and modern design. After its first entry into Indian soil 50 years back, Vespa surely has had a lot of fame on its side before ‘Hamara Bajaj’ spoiled its party.

Britain expects India to shortly ask yet again for the return of its artefacts allegedly looted during the colonial period and now showcased in various British museums.
The Independent newspaper said the Archaeological Survey of India is now compiling a list of the stolen riches before launching a “diplomatic and legal campaign” for their restitution from institutions, including the British Museum, the royal collection and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Among the items from the list quoted by the newspaper are the 2.3-metre-tall bronze Buddha statue excavated from Sultanganj in Bihar, which is now in Birmingham, and the Amravati railings, a series of limestone carvings dating from 100 A.D. and acquired from a Buddhist temple in Andhra Pradesh by Victorian explorers. The world-famous Kohinoor diamond, which was mined from Golconda and graced the crown of the then Empress of India is also on the list.

Vijay Mallya-led Kingfisher Airlines has been voted the best Indian carrier and Finnair the best in north Europe in a global survey by an independent research agency - often called the Oscars of airline industry.
Kingfisher got the honours under three categories - best airline in India and Central Asia, best economy class seats and excellent staff service, while the Nordic carrier was awarded for its overall performance as a "four-star" airline.
London-based Skytrax announced the results after a survey among 18 million air passengers from some 100 different countries that was carried out between July 2009 and April 2010.
"Being recognised by Skytrax is an honour and we would like to thank our valued guests who chose to fly Kingfisher Airlines," said Mallya, whose business interests span airlines and Formula 1 racing to spirits and beer.
Kingfisher Airlines is one of just six airlines worldwide that currently meet the rigorous quality criteria which Skytrax set for this prestigious, top tier 5-Star airline ranking.
"The greatest attribute behind five-star status is an airline's ability to deliver the combination of product and service," said Skytrax chief executive Edward Plaisted.
"The renewal of the five-star ranking to Kingfisher Airlines reaffirms its standing as the only airline in India and one of only six airlines in the world which has been awarded this status."

My problem with the IPL Nites parties was not that I was forced to attend by any contractual obligation. There was no such thing for me, or, to my knowledge, for any of my fellow India players.
Each party was invariably the same routine. You would have a set-up with a ramp show that lasted 30 to 45 minutes, then the models would come off and mix with the rest and the party would take off.
There were cheerleaders and girls who we called 'escort service'. Beautiful women to add glamour to the mix, get the party moving. They were not allowed to talk to any player for more than five minutes. If they did, a manager would walk up and slickly move her away.

Santiniketan (IANS) Hundreds of people from India and abroad congregated in the sylvan surroundings of the Visva-Bharati university here as the celebrations of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore's 150th birth anniversary got off to a colourful start Sunday.
The university, founded by Tagore in 1921, reverberated at dawn to his touching songs as students and teachers - resplendent in traditional dresses - went around the campus in a procession singing his compositions.
Everybody then assembled at Chatimtala - the exact spot under a chatim tree where the poet's father Debendranath had established an ashram way back in 1863 - and took part in prayers that culminated in a rendition of a series of devotional songs composed by the bard, who holds the distinction of having authored the national anthems of two sovereign nations India and Bangladesh.

Normally, we don’t allow anything to come between us,” jokes Shoaib Malik as you slip in the recorder in the little space available on the sofa shared by his wife Sania Mirza.
On a serious note, that line pretty much sums up the chemistry between the newly-weds who are having a ball of a time.Being a sporting couple obviously has its own advantages and Sania has a long list of them. “Lot of things can be left unsaid; they don’t need to be explained. You understand each other’s lifestyles, mood swings (sportspersons go through a gamut of emotions during matches). A lot of things are similar — we understand the importance of training, rest, practice and having a good time… He’s been around when I’ve lost matches and I’ve been around on the phone when he has lost games. You know sometimes, it’s ok to shut up — you don’t want to talk about shopping when someone’s lost a match. It’s a bit difficult for non-sportspersons to understand that. There are so many small things which I think are much easier in life,” she reveals.
