Now, this can be prevented. Scientists from Germany have developed a device to prevent motorists from falling asleep.

Developed at the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, It is a system which involves tiny cameras that monitor eye movements which trigger an alarm when drivers seem about to nod off.

Pentagon officials say they cannot explain reports of a missile launch.

Tata Docomo will be the first private telecom operator to roll out 3G services across INDIA on 5th November.

Tata Teleservices Managing Director Anil Sardana told reporters here on Wednesday that the 3G services would be launched in Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh-Chattisgargh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh (West), Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra. “Tata Teleservices will launch 3G services in all the nine circles, where it has 3G licence,'' he said.

“Powered with cutting-edge technology support from its partner NTT DOCOMO of Japan, Tata DOCOMO's 3G services will change the way consumers use their mobile phones, riding on the back of game-changing products, applications and services,'' a statement said.

European nation under goes cyber war drill to test their defenses

After much delays and postponements, The Department of Telecom (DoT) had come out with another day to roll out the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) start Haryana.

In a release, the DoT said, "The countrywide launch of MNP services will start from Haryana Licensed Service Area on November 25, 2010. From this date customers in Haryana will have the option of changing their service provider without changing their mobile numbers."

With fuss growing after missing three deadlines, mobile number portability (MNP), which allows subscribers to retain numbers even after changing service operators, will be rolled out in November, Telecom Minister A Raja said.

"November 1 onwards, MNP would be operational partially... First, we wanted to inaugurate in Haryana," Raja told reporters on the sidelines of an event organised by BSNL in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The MNP system in the first phase, will be introduced in 11 circles and the implementation will begin from the second or third week of November.

An official announcement about this will be made on November 1. Implementation in the eleven circles would be completed by December 20, he said.

23-year-old Emily Cummins, student of Leeds University got and idea of making the solar powered fridge when she was at the university. She made a prototype from her grandfather's shed. Now, already in use across Africa.

Cummins was selected as a Oslo Business for Peace Honouree in Norway last week, a prestigious award established last year for ethical businesspeople which is overseen by a panel of Nobel prize winners.

Next month, in Japan, the Junior Chamber International will name her one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World for this year.

China come up with its own high-resolution mapping service on the Web may steal Google viewers

After Google exiting the mainland China, site like Baidu are on the advantage by increasing its market share. Now adding more worry to the google is that china has launched an official online mapping service called Map World.

This web-based service gives people access to increasingly detailed satellite images of China and high-level images of other nations.

The flat maps can be viewed in 3D if visitors download and install a browser plug-in to convert the images.

China said the service was still in development and would be updated regularly. It said it could currently handle about 10 million visits per day.

Indian richest Hindu shrine may get UAV surveillance

According to temple official of Tirumala, The country's richest shrine at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh may get unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) surveillance as part of security enhancement plans for the temple which is visited by thousands of devotees daily.

It is 2 kg, battery-operated surveillance UAV, designed and developed by a Bangalore-based firm, was test-flown during the Navaratri Brahmotsavam (held for nine days October 8-16 during the Navaratri) at the hill shrine, MK Singh, chief vigilance officer of the temple, said.

The aerial surveillance was conducted for 45 minutes and results are satisfactory, he said over phone from Tirupati.

According to the security document released by Britain Ministry, sophisticated hackers now has the capability of breaking into a plane's sophisticated on-board computer systems and forcing it to crash.

They could also target critical infrastructure such as nuclear power stations and electricity supplies, reports the Daily Mail.

These hackers can be engaged by terror cells and foreign states to cause maximum damage, British Prime Minister David Cameron's long-awaited National Security Strategy report said.

China says that its high speed rail system with avg speed of 500 kmph

Chinese Govt official said that it has started research on a new super-speed technology that would allow it to run trains at over 500 km an hour.

Railway ministry chief engineer He Huawu said that new technology will increase the average speed of trains to over 500 km per hour, China Daily reported.

Speaking at a conference in central China's Wuhan city, He said that the 400-500 km/h high-speed railway technology is in its final phase of development and the 380-km/h trains are already coming off production lines.

China has already put into service 7,055 km of high-speed railway tracks - the longest in the world. It is expected to reach 13,000 km by 2012.

Vodafone IN initiates 3G service in India, full scale commercial launch in early 2011

One of the leading Indian Telecom operator Vodafone IN today had announced launch of its 3G services but a full-scale commercial launch is expected to happen in the early four months of 2011.

Vodafone IN paid a whopping $2.6 billion for getting 3G licence in nine circles, Vodafone would make an additional investment $400 million to $500 million for rolling out 3G services city wise which tell us the early use of 3G services wont be affordable.

Vodafone has secured spectrum license to offer 3G services in nine circles: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (East) and West Bengal.

India join the elite club of developing its own indigenous Laser Guided Bomb(LGB)

Here is one more achievement by India's Instrument Research and Development Establishment (IRDE),a lab of DRDO for developing the Laser Guided bomb tech from the scratch.

The development of technology for producing Laser Guided Bomb(LGB) is part of ongoing research towards achieving self-dependency in the defense area being done in IRDE, a lab of DRDO, Scientist and Public Relation Officer of IRDE told PTI.

LGB uses a laser designator to mark or illuminate a target. The reflected laser light from the target is then detected by the seeker which sends signals to the weapon's control surfaces to guide it towards the designated point, he said.

Delhi Common Wealth Games official Website was allegedly attacked repeatedly traced to China

After the Happy ending of 2010 Delhi CWG, post-mortem of the games begins. Before the games started it was surrounded by many controversies of irregularities.

During the ongoing games there was a complaint of inefficient working of the official Delhi Commonwealth Games Website due to which the people couldn't access the Games Time table and schedule and ticket availability.

Investigation revealed that the Official website was attacked repeatedly until the the end of the games which route was traced to China.

Sources tell CNN-IBN that within two hours of the Games opening ceremony, the website faced massive cyber attacks, possibly from China. India's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERTIN) had to set up a special cyber control room at the games village. But the cyber attacks continued till the end of Games.

Stanford University researchers gave 15 students mild doses of pain, while checking if they were distracted by gazing at photos of their beloved.

The study focused on people early in a romance, journal PLoS One reported, so the "drug of love" may wear off.
