We’ve seen the iPhone 3G running an older version of Android before, but now hackers have managed to install the latest version, Android 2.2 (also known as Froyo) on that same device.
Don’t try this out — not only because it’s potentially dangerous to your iPhone, but also because Android (Android) 2.2 doesn’t work very well on the iPhone. Currently, Wi-Fi and audio don’t work, which pretty much useless and kills the fun.
Still, if you want to see Froyo in action on the iPhone, you can check out the video below.

Adobe to Bring Flash-Based Ads to iPhone.

Adobe has partnered with ad company Greystripe to deliver Flash-based ads to Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Greystripe makes this possible by converting Flash ads (which the devices do not currently support) into the competing HTML5 format.
Apple prefers HTML5, which it uses in its new iAd platform for rich media ads on mobile devices. The company has no intention of ever directly supporting Adobe Flash on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, so this could be the only chance Adobe has at reaching iPhone users with mobile ads — a massive growth market.
The ads distributed through this deal between Adobe and Greystripe will challenge Apple’s own, HTML5-based iAd platform. We’re not sure what (if anything) Apple will do about this.

Before he got to all of the juicy details about the iPhone 4, Steve Jobs spent some time at today’s WWDC keynote event going over the state of Apple’s last major product, the iPad. According to Mr. Jobs, the iPad nation is well and thriving.
With millions of devices sold, thousands of apps, and e-book sales numbers that might be making Amazon (Amazon.com) nervous, the iPad appears to be a continued success. Check out infographic below for the full skinny on the state of the iPad. Look below :)

There were a lot of rumors as to what else Apple might announce.
The list wasn’t small and it didn’t come out of thin air. We were expecting a cloud-based version of iTunes, likely called iTunes Live.
We thought there would be announcements regarding a refresh to the Macbook line. There were also credible rumors regarding the potential release of Safari 5 today (which was released later despite not being announced in Jobs’s keynote), not to mention Apple TV and the mythical Verizon iPhone.

Vying for their share of the smartphone market are two of the tech industry’s fiercest competitors: Apple, with its iconic iPhone, and Google, with its fast-growing Android operating system.
Between Q4 ’09 and Q1 ’10, Android and iPhone’s share of the smartphone market grew by 2% each. At the same time, smartphone leader Blackberry lost 2% share to fall to 35% of all smartphones while Microsoft’s Windows Mobile OS also lost 2% to fall to 19%.

By Miguel Helft, NYT News Service,
For Steven P. Jobs, the chief executive of Apple, the timing of his public appearance at the D8 conference could not have been better. Last week, Apple surpassed Microsoft to become the world's most valuable technology company. A little more than a decade ago, Apple was struggling for its life, and many tech pundits were predicting its demise.
So Mr. Jobs's wide-ranging interview with conference hosts Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher began, appropriately, with a softball question: How did it feel to stand at the top of the technology heap.
"For those of us who have been in the industry a long it is surreal," Mr. Jobs said. "But it doesn't matter very much. It is not what's important. It is not why any of our customers buy our products. I think it is good for us to keep that in mind. But it is a little surreal."
Mr. Jobs then hit on all the news that has surrounded Apple recently -- the stolen iPhone prototype, the war over Flash with Adobe, the suicides at Chinese contract manufacturer Foxconn, AT&T's network problems, the rivalry with Google and more. He didn't make any news or announce any new products or partners, but he delivered some interesting tidbits. Perhaps most significantly, he said Apple has no plans to get rid of Google's search and maps services on the iPhone or iPad.
"We have some Google properties on our phone," Mr. Jobs said. "Just because we are competing with somebody doesn't mean you have to be rude."

Again iPhone, media's darling appears on the web. But now its not the phone but the metal frame work. This was first appeared in two videos posted on the blog iPhone Portugal.
Though there wasn't any apple logo embossed in it but by comparing it with its previous appearance on internet it seems its likely the metal frame for the iPhone 4G.
According to the blog owners, the two identical frames weren’t “stolen or found”; they were “purchased in China” and then “delivered” to them.

(Wired) -- News outlets may have spoiled the big surprise for Apple's upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference by publishing early photos and details of the next-generation iPhone. Nonetheless, in a recent e-mail, Steve Jobs promised a customer that "You won't be disappointed" by the announcements to come.
What else might Apple have in store for the event, which happens June 7 to 11 at San Francisco's Moscone Center? Before last year's WWDC, Wired.com accurately predicted the introduction of new iPhones and MacBooks, as well as the release date of the Snow Leopard operating system.
So with this year's WWDC keynote scheduled for June 7, we thought it'd be fun to step up and place our bets once again.
In addition to the obvious new iPhone, we're predicting something big happening with relation to streaming video.
Also, we dismiss recent rumors about Microsoft making an appearance to announce iPhone OS developer tools, and once again we file the possibility of a Verizon iPhone under "unlikely."

Good news for the apple fans and the mac users. Apple has pushed past arch-rival Microsoft to become the world's biggest technology company.
Changes in the share price values of the two in Wednesday's choppy trading left the total value of Apple at $222bn (£154bn).
Microsoft is now valued by investors at $219bn.
The worth, known as market capitalisation, is calculated by multiplying the number of shares in a company by the current share price.

(Wired) -- Sales of the iPad are already outpacing those of the Mac in the United States, according to an analyst's calculations.
Apple is selling more than 200,000 iPads per week, says Mike Abramsky, an RBC Capital Markets analyst. That's almost twice the rate of Mac computers, which average about 110,000 units sold each week.
The iPad isn't outselling the iPhone, though it's coming close. Apple was selling about 246,000 units of the iPhone 3GS per week during its first quarter of launch.

Steve Jobs, the Apple co-founder, desperately tried to persuade a website to return an “invaluable” 4G iPhone prototype, after it was left in a bar by a company engineer, court documents have disclosed.
According to newly released California state court documents Jobs, also the company's chief executive, personally contacted Brian Lam, the editor of Gizmodo.com which obtained the sensitive device, asking they return it.
The New York-based technology gadget website said it would only return the device if Apple confirmed its authenticity.

The Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal were both carrying full-page "We Love Apple" adverts on Friday morning, but the space was not bought by the Californian technology giant but by Adobe, the web technology firm that is locked in a bitter dispute with Steve Jobs.
The adverts, using a variant of the famous "I love New York" motif created by Milton Glaser, have appeared in newspapers including the Wall Street Journal and San Jose Mercury and online on websites including Wired and TechCrunch.
They present the latest front in an increasingly nasty war between the two companies. Adobe's web video technology Flash is not supported by Apple's iPad or iPhone and Jobs has publicly criticised it for causing battery problems and crashes.

After the big saga of iPhone > Grey Powell > Gizmodo > Jason chen > apple > steve jobs. First the prototype of iPhone 4G was disguised with others in bar which was accidentally left by apple engineer Grey Powell.
This prototype was discovered by the Gizmodo people and was review by the popular tech blog site Gizmodo.com. This made apple's Steve Job angry and made jason chen house raided by police and computers were seized.
This great apple-gizmodo made a healty hyped talk around the world and as well as in World media.
Now iPhone is back on news. This time a Vietnamese forum Taoviet.vn has posted images of the iPhone 4G prototype. This was soon followed by a YouTube video uploaded by Tinhte.com.
Unlike Gizmodo's iPhone 4G, this version was turned on and it did not seem to run the iPhone OS. The phone was a prototype did not respond to any input methods. The back panel of the phone has a large camera with LED flash.
The device also lacks the screws at the bottom that were present in the phone that Gizmodo acquired.
An deeper look into the dismantled phone revealed an Apple-branded chip that reports suggest could be a reduced version of the A4 processor found on the Apple iPad.

Helsinki: Nokia, the world's top handset maker, broadened its patent fight with Apple Inc on Friday to include the iPad, deepening the bitter legal disputes between the two smartphone rivals.
The firms turned to the courts in the last year as Nokia battles Apple, which only entered the cellphone business in 2007, but has taken a sizeable share of the fat-margined, fast-growing smartphone market.
The Finnish firm, on the other hand, has shed market share in smartphones along with margins and stunned investors last month by delaying its new software upgrade for phones, seen as key in its struggle with Apple.

Apple has announced that its iPad tablet computer will go on sale in nine countries outside the US on 28 May.
The new markets are Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
The cheapest model will retail at £429 in the UK. The same version in the US costs $499 (£337).
Part of the difference in price is due to British VAT and US sales tax. The same model before tax costs £37 ($55) more in the UK.
The consumer gadget was launched in the US domestic market on 3 April, but Apple had to delay deliveries to international consumers.

CUPERTINO, Calif., (AP) : Apple Inc. said Monday that is has sold 1 million of its new iPad tablet computers in the month after its launch, meaning it's been selling more than twice as fast as the iPhone did when it was new.
Apple said it reached the milestone on Friday, when the new 3G model of the iPad was delivered to its first buyers. That model can access AT&T's cellular broadband network. The first models had only Wi-Fi access.
''One million iPads in 28 days -- that's less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone,'' said CEO Steve Jobs. Demand keeps exceeding supply for the tablet, he added.

Adobe has posted a short response to the letter Apple boss Steve Jobs has written about Flash technology.
In it, Adobe said the legal terms Apple imposed on software developers had led it to shift its focus away from Apple.
Mr Jobs used the open letter to defend Apple's decision not to allow Flash on many of the firm's products.
In it he criticised Flash, saying it was not fit for an era of smartphones and touchscreen devices.

Even in a season when designers made no secret about reining in prices to appeal to the newly chastened luxury consumer, it is still possible to walk into a store and wonder what exactly they were thinking when a pair of khaki cotton pants -- right there on the hanger, no special packaging or 3G plan or anything -- can cost as much as an iPad.
