According to Highest court of UAE, a man can beat his Wife and children as long as he leaves no marks on their body.
UAE's highest court said this while giving it's verdict in a case where a man beat up his wife and adult daughter. The court said the man was guilty of harming the women but noted that Islamic codes allow for discipline if no marks are left.
It added that children who have reached adulthood cannot be hit.
"Although the (law) permits the husband to use his right (to discipline), he has to abide by the limits of this right," an Abu Dhabi daily quoted chief justice Falah al-Hajeri as saying in the ruling released on Sunday. The man's daughter was 23, hence too old to be disciplined in this fashion, it noted.

Roberto Sol Cabrera, a Mexican citizen, was stopped at a random check at Mexico City's international airport after arriving from Lima.
In a statement, police said Mr Cabrera Zavaleta had been behaving "nervously".
Once he was searched, it was discovered that he had hidden 18 titi monkeys in a girdle around his waist.
After his arrest, Mr Sol Cabrera confessed that the animals had travelled in his luggage, and that he had put them under his clothing "to protect them from X-rays" as he was going through customs.
The animals had been put into socks, police explained, and two of them were dead at the time of confiscation.

Serviceman Bradley Manning, 22, faces two charges related to the illegal transfer and transmission of classified information from a US military network.
The US said he was suspected of downloading from SIPR Net.
He reportedly then passed on the data, including army videos and diplomatic messages, to the WikiLeaks website.

Japan's Sumo having ties with Underworld?

Japan's sumo is going through its hard times from damaging scandals and declining popularity. Recently investigation suggests that the sumo wrestlers might be having ties with organised criminals(Underworld)
On Sunday, the Japan Sumo Association, the sport's governing body, announced the firing of a top wrestler and a stable master a powerful coach who controls a cluster of wrestlers for betting on professional baseball games in a gambling ring run by organized crime. Two other stable masters were demoted, and 18 other wrestlers were barred from competing in the next tournament.
This came after an apparently unrelated scandal two months ago over the sale of tickets for prized seats at the foot of the sport's raised dirt ring to around 50 members of the Yamaguchi-gumi, Japan's largest crime syndicate. The seats allowed the gangsters, known as yakuza, to be clearly visible during television broadcasts of the bouts, a brazen display that sumo experts said was aimed at cheering up an incarcerated syndicate boss watching from prison.

Thieves are using high-tech skimmers to steal account information at automatic teller machines — and victims don't know they have a problem until they see their statements.
Cyber security expert Brian Krebs tracks ATM scams on his blog and he says new technology is helping scammers steal even more of your information at ATMs.
"If it's done correctly you would not notice that anything looks amiss," Krebs says.
In a traditional skimming scam, thieves place a card-skimming device into the card insertion slot. The skimmer can steal account information stored on the magnetic strip on back of the card when it is dipped into the machine.

Japan's governing body of sumo wrestling announced it has fired star sumo wrestler ozeki Kotomitsuki in the wake of a gambling scandal that has enveloped the sport, according to news reports.
The unprecedented move also was taken against Kotomitsuki's stable master, Otake.
Kotomitsuki becomes the first active "ozeki" to be fired; he was found to have gambled on professional baseball, the money allegedly a source of funding for mobsters, Kyodo News reported. The Japan Sumo Association on Sunday stopped short, however, of expelling them, the most severe sentence which would bar them from receiving retirement allowances, according to Kyodo News.
