FIFA WC 2010 spirit lifter Vuvuzela make into the Oxford Dictionary. Along with other new words like (a meeting arranged through Twitter); cheeseball (lacking taste or style); and a turducken (a roast dish consisting of a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey)., it is included in the third edition of the dictionary, published today (THURS). The word vuvuzela has only been in common use since the summer when the long horn began to be heard at the World Cup matches in South Africa.
It is one of more than 2,000 new words and phrases included in the dictionary for the first time.
A spokesman for publishers Oxford University Press said the dictionary, which was first published in 1998, is based on a huge word bank or corpus which is continually being added to.

Gabbar the first villian to be brand ambassador

(Ibnlive) Kailash Surendranath started his career at the age of 17. He directed the path breaking Liril launch ad followed by many. He is one of the leading and most reputed ad film makers in India for the last 30 years. He had directed the first 'mile sur mera tumhara'.
Post the fame and success of Sholay he directed an ad for Glucose-D using Gabbar as the brand ambassador. Read on to know what the director has to say about Amjad Khan aka Gabbar and Sholay.
How and when did the idea of using Gabbar Singh for the Britannia’s Glucose-D come about?
The idea was actually very revolutionary. The film had obviously become a sensation and we just worked on it. The idea to use Gabbar Singh in the ad came from Late Mubi Ismail. She worked in the film department at Lintas India Ltd. She approached me with the idea to take the villain instead of the hero as the brand ambassador. We decided to do something that’s not so obvious after all Gabbar was the most memorable part of the movie. It was a revolutionary idea because no client had the guts to use a villain as a testimonial for an ad for obvious reasons. This was done during a time when not many movie stars were into endorsements. Advertisements at that time had not reached such frenzy as it is now. I remember one Mr. Sunil who sanctioned it from the client’s end. He was Rajan Pillay’s man for advertising. After a lot of brainstorming and couple of drinks it was a done deal.

(ANI): Hindus have extended warm welcome to Oscar winner Hollywood star Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman) into the Hindu fold.
September issue of women's fashion magazine Elle, on which Roberts, 42, is the cover girl, reportedly says: The entire Roberts-Moder family, she reveals, goes to temple together to "chant and pray and celebrate. I'm definitely a practicing Hindu," says Roberts, who grew up with a Catholic mother and Baptist father. And since in Hindu cosmology souls can be reincarnated in other bodies, where does she see herself in the next life? "Golly, I've been so spoiled with my friends and family in this life," she says. "Next time I want to be just something quiet and supporting."
Noted Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, heartily welcomed Roberts into Hinduism. She would appreciate rich, diverse and long tradition of Hindu philosophy; and its interpretation of the nature of reality, he added.

So people thinks when they are in sorrow that the dog life is better than them. Here is story which is justifying that think.
In Britain an average person consumes almost eight litres of ice cream a year, with the great majority eaten during the summer months.
The K99 ice cream van serves two flavours of dog ice cream, Dog Eat Hog World, which is a gammon and chicken sorbet, and Canine Cookie Crunch, which is a dog biscuits and ice cream mix.
Both are made from soya milk and have, according to the organisers, been developed by animal nutritionists and are perfectly safe for all dogs to eat.

Zynga, makers of Farmville and Mafia Wars now have more than 100 Million users
Is this mean that people are being addicted to virtual world ? Zynga, makers of popular online games like "Farmville" and "Mafia Wars" stats show that. Zynga has announced it has crossed 100 million registered users who play their games. The suprising part is that it just took almost two and half years in reaching this milestone. NewYork Time got a chance to interact with Mark Pincus, Zynga's 44-year-old founder after reaching this milestone.
In a pep talk this month, Pincus told his company's newcomers that he had set out to build an enduring Internet icon, one that was synonymous with fun.
"I thought, it's 2007, and this can't be all that the Internet is meant to be," he said. There has to be more than "a garage sale, a bookstore, a search engine and a portal," he added in a good-natured putdown of the Web giants eBay, Amazon, Google and Yahoo.

(cnn.com) Researchers in Britain have been credited with cracking the age-old conundrum about the chicken and the egg. But are they right?
After the publication of the rather dry-sounding scientific paper, "Structural Control of Crystal Nuclei by an Eggshell Protein," press headlines proclaimed the answer was... the chicken.
However, one of the paper's lead authors, Colin Freeman, from the University of Sheffield in northern England, told CNN that the result was not as conclusive as it seemed.
"I would argue that the concept of an eggshell came about way before the chicken, it's dinosaur or even pre-dinosaur thing. That's something to talk to an evolutionary biologist about probably," he said.

Although the Premier League has not made any ruling on the vuvuzela covering its 20 teams, Tottenham banned the South African instrument late Monday.
Arsenal, Birmingham, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, West Ham and Sunderland followed Tuesday, with most citing concern that the distinctive blaring of the vuvuzelas could prevent spectators at matches from hearing safety announcements such as evacuation instructions.
''Following discussions with the police and representatives from the local licensing authorities, the club will not be permitting vuvuzelas or similar instruments into White Hart Lane on match days,'' Tottenham said. ''We are concerned that the presence of the instruments within the stadium pose unnecessary risks to public safety.''
Vuvuzelas at the recently concluded World Cup annoyed plenty of television viewers around the world by drowning out television commentary and other crowd noise.
But many enjoyed the local flavor they added to the monthlong tournament. The trumpets were a common souvenir for visiting supporters to take home from the World Cup, but with Arsenal following its north London neighbor in imposing a ban, half of last season's top four clubs have ordered fans to leave them at home.

Prince William has come under fire over an estimated annual bill of 1.4 million pounds which the British government has to foot to protect him at a private cottage after he shunned the Royal Air Force accommodation, a media report said.
The Prince is classified as the highest security risk and receives round-the-clock armed protection. Scotland Yard provides him with a number of personal protection officers. In addition, a 15-strong unit of armed officers has been formed by North Wales Police to look after him during his training.
But, the second-in-line to the British throne's decision to live off base for the duration of his three-year helicopter pilot training course at RAF Valley in Anglesey has costly implications for the force providing his security, the Daily Express reported.

Paul the octopus now has the ultimate accessory of every bona fide television celebrity - his own theme song.
Penned by a man billed as a novelty animal song writer, Parry Gripp, the tune features a somewhat nasal vocal track over a simple electronic beat.
The chorus is sung to the immortal words: "Paul, the Octopus, We love you, He picks the winner, When he eats his dinner, Paul the Octopus, We love you."
Paul's acquired his celebrity status while building a 100-percent record in predicting eight games correctly at the World Cup.

Paul made correct predictions of the outcome of all seven of Germany's matches as well as of Sunday's final by choosing to eat a morsel of food from a box emblazoned with the flag of the winning team.
TV stations in Germany and Britain broadcast live images of his decision for the final.
A Spanish town in northwestern Galicia, which celebrates an annual Octopus Festival has already requested that the salty soothsayer be allowed to join them as a guest of honour.
Whatever the decision, Paul has been rewarded with honorary citizenship of the town of O Carballino.
A Spanish wildlife defence group, ADDA, has also suggested that he be given a spot to live out the rest of his days in a marine sanctuary in Spain, rather than cooped up in an aquarium.

Madrid's main aquarium is rolling out the red carpet to get Paul, the "psychic" octopus who uncannily forecast Spain's World Cup win over the Netherlands, to grace the champion country with a visit.
The Zoo Aquarium sent a request to the Sea Life aquarium in Oberhausen in western Germany this week to host the mollusc, whose prescient picks during the tournament propelled him to international fame, a spokeswoman said.
"We have not received a response," she told AFP.

World No 2 in Badminton, Saina Nehwal, is shuttling her way towards becoming one of the top spots brands in India. Brand strategists say that she can now charge up to 30 lakh per endorsement - 500% more than what she used to get before her ranking shot up.
Unlike her coach, Pullela Gopichand, who refused to endorse aerated drinks at the peak of his career, Saina says she's wide open to offers, especially since she's somewhat of a Cola girl herself.
"Today's generation wants to drink everything. I am also one of them. Gopi sir took a very brave decision because he believes if we do anything, the public follows. I don't see it that way that if I drink, others will also start drinking it,'' she said.

Imagine a pickpocket trying to steal your wallet but getting a 220-volt jolt! Wearing a special pair of jeans - designed by a Varanasi school dropout using basic scientific principles - might just help avoid a hole in your pocket.
The jeans has been designed by Shyam Chaurasia, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi district. That's not all, with slight modifications, according to him, you can make all your garments "power-packed".
"You just need to fit a small battery-operated kit in the garment that you want to make power-packed," Chaurasia, 21, told IANS. Varanasi is around 300 km from Lucknow.
