The 3D revolution has so far been all about Hollywood blockbusters and major sporting events. But now, the cutting-edge technology is coming closer to home.
Treasured moments such as a child's first steps or a university graduation can be captured in 3D with the arrival of the first camcorder - capable of filming in more than two dimensions, says the Daily Mail.
Unveiled by Panasonic Wednesday, the 1,300 pound HDC-SDT750 3D model works using a sophisticated double lens.
Company spokesman Barnaby Sykes said: "Just as we have two eyes, so the 3D camcorder has two lenses side by side. The camcorder acts like the human brain in converging the two images together to create one picture in 3D."

While developing the Bluetooth 4.0 Core Specification, SIG’s primary focus areas were low power consumption using new ‘low energy technology’, apart from enhanced range and multi-vendor operability. They seem to have achieved what they set out to do, and claim that it will allow for several years’ worth of usage on standard coin-cells. This will allow for very small and low cost devices to incorporate Bluetooth as a connectivity option, as it doesn’t require large batteries to power it. This ‘low energy technology’ feature of Bluetooth 4.0 promises to have “new applications in health care, fitness, security and home entertainment”.
According to the Executive Director of SIG, Michael Foley, "Bluetooth wireless technology can now, with the hard work of our members and our world-class qualification program, really do it all.”

Today at its Xbox 360 media event in Los Angeles, Microsoft dropped a big piece of news: the launch of a slimmer version of the Xbox 360, which starts shipping today and will hit stories by the end of this week.
The new Xbox 360 comes in black, rather the current Xbox 360, which is white. It has 250 GB of disk space and comes equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, instead of using a direct Ethernet connection. And, best of all, it’s shorter and thinner than its bulkier counterpart.
The new console will cost $299 — for comparison’s sake, the PS3 Slim and the current 120 GB version of the Xbox 360 also cost $299 (that’s more or equal GB for your buck).

Microsoft on Monday unveiled the first games for its remote-control-free video game system, Kinect for Xbox 360. Several of the titles were pretty generic: a dancing game, a race car game, an adventure game and a fitness game.
And then there was "Kinectimals."
A demo of this bizarre but cuddly game showed a little girl tickling and playing with "Skittles," a virtual tiger cub. She threw sticks for the tiger to fetch and called it to the screen, where it licked the television and wagged its tail for her.
"Come here Skittles!" she called to her virtual friend.

Employers can now fall back on a new gadget before recruiting a potential candidate, thanks to scientists who claim to have developed a voice-based stress detector that could identify which job applicants can perform better under pressure.
An international team, led by Bo Yin of the National Information and Communications Technology Australia in Sydney, has designed the new gadget which it exhibited at trade show CeBIT Australia recently.
"Normally we have full control over our vocal muscles and change their position to create different intonations. But when stressed, we lose control of the position of the speech muscles and our speech becomes more monotone," Yin was quoted by the 'New Scientist' as saying.

AT&T said late Wednesday that it has fixed a security hole that may have allowed hackers to access the e-mail addresses of iPad 3G owners.
The announcement came shortly after tech and gossip blog Gawker posted an expose of the breach. A hacker group used a vulnerability on AT&T's website to harvest the e-mail addresses iPad buyers provided to activate their devices, which went on sale barely more than a month ago.
The result was a glitzy who's who list of iPad early adopters, which includes major political figures, military officials and top politicians. Rahm Emanuel, the chief of staff for President Obama, was among the iPad users whose e-mail address was exposed, according to Gawker. Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg were also on the hit list.

Wearing his usual black turtleneck and jeans, Jobs took the stage to a standing ovation from the audience and a shout of, "We love you Steve!"
Describing it as the 'biggest leap since the original iPhone' Apple CEO Steve Jobs finally revealed what everyone had gathered to hear at the company's World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco, California on Monday. Apple was launching the much awaited iPhone 4.
The iPhone 4 would be available in two colours, black and white. It would be priced at $199 in the US for the 16GB model, and 299 for the 32GB model. Apple would start taking pre-orders next week and ship initially to only five countries - US, France, Germany, UK, Japan. Jobs promised to add another 18 locations to the list in July. The number could go upto 88 countries by the end of the year in what Jobs described as the 'fastest rollout ever'. There was however no mention of when the iPhone 4 would be available in markets like India.
In what should be welcome news for existing iPhone users, Apple would be offering free iOS4 upgrades for the 3GS, 3G on June 21. However the offer comes with a rider - not all features will be supported in the 3G handset.
Jobs promised over 100 new features, out of which he discussed nine in his keynote.
