The Taliban in Afghanistan has threatened to behead informers who have been revealed following the explosive disclosure by WikiLeaks.

WikiLeaks has put out over 90,000 uncensored intelligence documents, causing a security scare. Countries which have their forces fighting in Afghanistan are pouring over the documents to see the extent of the damage.

The Taliban on Thursday night responded for the first time since the WikiLeaks expose of the names and locations of anti-Taliban informers, Daily Mail reported on Friday.

War on terror costs US $ 1 trillion

The United States has spent more than $ 1 trillion on wars since the September 11, 2001, says a recently released Congressional report.

Adjusting for inflation, the outlays for conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere around the world make the "war on terrorism" second only to World War II that cost $ 4.1 trillion at today's prices, the report says.

The report "Cost of Major US Wars" by the Congressional Research Service attempts to compare war costs over a more than 230-year period-from the American Revolution to the current day-noting the difficulties associated with such a task.

Since the 9/11 terror attacks, the United States has spent an estimated $ 1.15 trillion. World War II cost $ 4.1 trillion when converted to current dollars, although the tab in the 1940s was $ 296 billion.

(ANI): The US Homeland Security Department has put a six-year-old Indian origin American girl on the "no fly" list on the grounds of having suspected ties to terrorists.

Alyssa Thomas, 6, is under the spotlight of the US Government, and her family recently came to know that she is on the "no fly" list maintained by the US Homeland Security.

"We were, like, puzzled. I'm like, well, she's kinda six-years-old and this is not something that should be typical," said Dr. Santhosh Thomas.

During a recent trip from Cleveland to Minneapolis, Dr. Thomas and his wife were made aware of the listing. The ticket agent at the Continental counter at Hopkins Airport notified the family, FOX News reports.

US-born Al Qaeda spokesman appears in new video.

American-born al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn appears in a new video purportedly from the organization, calling President Obama "snakelike" and saying he is "running the affairs of a declining and besieged empire."

In the video, posted Sunday on Islamist websites, Gadahn criticizes what he says is the United States' "aggression and interference" in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia, and also criticizes moving his "captive brothers" from detention centers worldwide to "Muslim-only concentration camps in Illinois, Bagram [Airfield, Afghanistan] and elsewhere -- all in the name of protecting the American people from the threat of Muslim retaliation for American crimes."

He is apparently referring to a maximum-security prison in Thomson, Illinois, being considered by the government as a possible venue to house terror suspects.

The latest defence surveillance can "pick out" potential insurgents in an image

UK's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) says will be used by soldiers within five years - a package of surveillance systems that can recognise insurgents or terrorists.

This high resolution imaging with in-built software to detect and follow the fake insurgents as they planned their covert meeting, was one of the technologies tested by DSTL during what it described as a "cops and robbers" style trial.
