New Delhi, Mar 22 (PTI) Merchandise related to IPL team Deccan Chargers has emerged as the most sought after among online buyers, says website eBay India. According to online auction site eBay India''s Indian Premier League (IPL) sales barometer -- Battle of the Fans -- products related to Adam Gilchrist led team accounts for 33 per cent of all the merchandise.
The barometer measures the popularity of an IPL team by the quantity of team merchandise bought by fans on eBay India. "Topping 2010''s IPL Battle of Fans is 2009''s Champions Deccan Chargers at 33 per cent, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders at 18 per cent and Royal Challengers Bangalore at 12 per cent," eBay India said in a statement.
Besides, Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings also feature in the top five list. In addition, Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals have cornered sixth, seventh and eighth positions respectively on merchandise popularity list.
While in 2009, Kings XI Punjab''s merchandise was the most popular on eBay India website. eBay India has tied up with leading brands like Puma, Adidas and Reebok for offering the IPL merchandise including jerseys, T-shirts, shoes and caps of several IPL teams.
