With an increase in responsibility to switch to eco fuel, Bioengineers from US developed a modified version of a strain of bacteria which has capability to increase its ethanol production.
Published in Biotechnology and Bioengineering, their research reveals how adaptation and metabolic engineering can be combined for strain improvement.
The whole research was based on Zymomonas mobilis, a bacterium noted for its bio-ethanol producing potential.
