Julian Assange, (Australian journalist, publisher, hacker and Internet activist) was born in Townsville, Australia, in July 3rd 1971, spent his youth life in Magnetic Island.
Assange's mother runs a puppet theatre which travelled frequently. Julian's stepfather, Brett Assange, told the press that Julian was, "A bright boy with a keen sense of right and wrong. He always stood up for the underdog with his school friends, he was always very angry about people ganging up on other people."
At the age of 16, Assange began hacking under the name "Mendax", formed a group with two others, named as the International Subversives. Assange wrote down the early rules of the subculture: "Don’t damage computer systems you break into (including crashing them), don’t change the information in those systems (except for altering logs to cover your tracks) and share information".
