Here is a synopsis of the story with the courtesy of en.wikipedia.org

I Hate Love Stories is said to be a film about a film director, Sammir Dattani and his assistant director and production designer played by Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor. Both assistant director and production designer meet on set and sparks fly. This romantic comedy is a love story between all three characters. Sonam and Sammir are in love and Imran comes in from the third angle and falls for Sonam. She has to decide who she truly loves. Although Imran Khan plays Samir’s assistant director, he hates the idea of making love stories as he plays a casanova in the film. Punit Malhotra the films director confirms the news saying "Imran plays a flirt or womaniser in my film. He's a 23-year-old boy who looks at, and flirts with every pretty girl that comes his way." Because Imran is the lead hero hence that’s how the film got its title "I Hate Luv Storys". However the producer of "I Hate Luv Storys" Karan Johar mentions about the choice of music of the film saying "The film has the kind of songs you were asking for, but with a different treatment. It is almost like we are making fun of ourselves. I am very excited about it. Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor make a very fresh pair and look good with each other." The film is currently in post-production stages and it's slated to release on July 2, 2010. The film has been shot extensively in the cities Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Coimbatore and Panvel of India. A schedule has also been shot in Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu, Arrowtown, Glenorchy, Kingston, Skippers Canyon, Coronet Peak of the very historic New Zealand.
