Dec 7, big day for Google, launches its own broswer based OS notebook and its app store.


The much exiting day for Google lovers, Google debuts it own OS(Operating system), Chrome OS, based on the open-source Chromium OS.

Google launches its first netbook named Cr-48, preloaded with Chrome OS. Google will distribute the laptop through its Chrome OS Pilot Program and for the masses it may be available starting mid 2011.

When it comes to specifications, here they are :
  • 12.1-inch screen.
  • Full size keyboard(Minus Caps lock).
  • Clickpad.
  • Qualcomm Gobi 3G chip for Verizon data in the US, .
  • 802.11n dual-band WiFi.
  • 8+ hours of active use.
  • 8+ days of standby.
  • Webcam.
  • Flash storage.

Mostly to be powered by Intel Atom processors.

At the same time, Google launches a web store for Chrome OS, named Chrome Web Store which is now available in US, providing applications for Chrome OS.
