Japanese businessman, Shigeru Kondo, with his home-built computer calculate the ever growing value of 'Pi', the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, to five trillion digits, almost doubling the accuracy of the previous world record.

His calculation was recognized by Guinness World Records with a certificate mailed to him.

Using parts from local warehouses and online stores, Kondo assembled a desktop computer that featured two high-end Intel processors and 20 external hard-drives.

A group of 54(51 men and 3 women) engineering students from SRM University, Chennai, designed and developed a 10-kg nano satellite which is aimed to monitor greenhouse gases (GHG), expects, launch off with ISRO's Megatropics G satellite this April by ISRO.

Project named as 'SRMSAT', worked began long back in 2008, developed under the guidance of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).An estimated Rs.1 crore of rupees in invested in this project.

Study conducted by Researchers from Israel show how powerful one's women tears is. They say, Crying may be nature's way of telling men to give women some space.

Research by Israeli scientists, of Israel's Weizmann Institute of Science examined the significance of emotional human tears suggests they are far more than watery drops squeezed from glands around the eyes.

They found that Women's tears play a functional role by emitting chemical signals that reduce testosterone levels and sexual arousal in men, the study found.

"The fact that emotional tears are different in content was a strong clue for us that they served as a chemo-signal," said Sobel, a professor of neurobiology at the institute. "For sure, it's a means of chemical communication. We communicate in many ways."

According to an estimate made by researchers, approximately 250 billion minute pieces of plastic are floating in the Mediterranean Sea.

The estimate comes from French and Belgian marine biologists who analysed water samples taken in July off France, northern Italy and Spain to a depth of 10-15 centimetres (four to six inches).

French Institute for Exploration of the Sea (Ifremer) made rough estimation of roughly 250 billion pieces of micro-debris in all the Mediterranean sea.

The figure derives from 4,371 minute pieces of plastic -- average weight 1.8 milligrams (0.00006 of an ounce)found in the samples.
