BrahMos cruise missile, product of BrahMos Aerospace, an Indo-Russian joint venture, says that they are ready with the prototype of aerial and underwater versions of a supersonic cruise missile.
Due to the absence of launching platform, the prototypes awaits for the test. And are expected to tested early next year for the under water version and for the air-borne version is likely to be held in 2012.

US Navy successfully test fires it's futuristic canon. On Dec 10, US Navy announced successful test firing of an electromagnetic cannon capable of firing a projectile 200 kms at five times the speed of sound.
This was tested at the Navy's Dahlgren Surface Warfare Center in Virginia.

(PTI): The US is devising an advanced conventional weapon of new strength called 'Prompt Global Strike' which can reduce dependence on atomic weapons, as it aims to accomplish great tasks without crossing nuke threshold, a media report said today.
President Barack Obama, in the coming years, will have to decide whether to deploy such weapons cutting the US reliance on nuclear weapons, the New York Times said in its report.
