According to secret diplomatic cables made available to Reuters by third party, China had increased its hand in cyber-espionage and said to have gained accessed to sensitive user names and passwords and terabytes of classified documents.

And at the moment, many experts believe China may have gained the upper hand.

According to US investigators, China has stolen terabytes of sensitive data - from usernames and passwords for State Department computers to designs for multi-billion dollar weapons systems. And Chinese hackers show no signs of letting up. "The attacks coming out of China are not only continuing, they are accelerating," says Alan Paller, director of research at information-security training group SANS Institute in Washington, DC.

The Tech magazine recommends that people who insist on storing passwords on a browser at least use some kind of master password, which means that all stored access data is safely encrypted. At present, which is available only with Firefox and Opera.

BlackBerry network can be hacked, say experts

( Reuters )Research in Motion's resistance to giving governments access to its BlackBerry network misses a major point - authorities could probably hack the data on their own if they want it badly enough, security experts say.

Indeed, a major attack against BlackBerry users by a telecom in the United Arab Emirates employed that very tactic a year ago, according to RIM. Experts say other malicious programs are likely to be lurking around, readying to be sprung.

India, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates say they need RIM's cooperation so they can decode messages scrambled with BlackBerry's proprietary technology. They have threatened to restrict RIM's operations if the company won't meet their demands, which they say are driven by national security concerns.

Ron Bowes, the person who posted 100 Million Facebook user Details speaks out.

Ron Bowes, a Canadian security consultant, used a piece of code to scan Facebook profiles, collecting data not hidden by users' privacy settings.

Mr Bowes told BBC News that he did it as part of his work on a security tool.

"I'm a developer for the Nmap Security Scanner and one of our recent tools is called Ncrack," he said.

"It is designed to test password policies of organisations by using brute force attacks; in other words, guessing every username and password combination."

By downloading the data from Facebook, and compiling a user's first initial and surname, he was able to make a list of the most common probable usernames to use in the tool.

Pirate Bay Hacked by Argentina Hacker.

An Argentinian hacker named Ch Russo claims that he and two associates have found several SQL injection vulnerabilities in The Pirate Bay’s database, which granted him access to all user information, including usernames and e-mails.

According to KrebsOnSecurity, who spoke with Ch Russo on the phone, the hackers did not modify the user data or give it away to a third party. They did, as they say, consider how much this info would be worth to various anti-piracy outfits such as the RIAA.

“Probably these groups would be very interested in this information, but we are not to sell it. Instead we wanted to tell people that their information may not be so well protected,” Ch Russo said.

Apple finally commented on the iTunes account fiasco, revealing that it had been caused by Thuat Nguyen himself, the developer whose works were being illegally purchased.

It is also said that that the hack was limited to only about 400 iTunes accounts but some big figure which many were suspecting. New security measures will also be instated, to avoid credit card misuse.

This is Apple’s official statement about the issue:

Recently, iTunes was hacked and millions of users were effected. Apple has banned a Vietnamese developer from its app store after he was implicated in fraudulently pushing his titles to its best-seller list.

According to Apple, Thuat Nguyen hacked around 400 iTunes accounts, in order to use their credit card details to boost sales of his comic book apps.

Apple said it had tightened its security as a result of the hack.

At one point Mr Nguyen's apps occupied 42 of the top 50 book apps sold.

In a statement Apple said that the developer and his apps have been removed from the iTunes store "for violating the developer Program License Agreement including fraudulent purchase patterns".

Google fixes the Youtube flaw which lets the Hacker exploit it.

YouTube has fixed a flaw allowing hackers to bombard users with fake pop-up messages and redirect them to adult sites.

Hackers placed code in the comments section, under targeted videos, that would run when people watched the clip.

In some cases, a pop-up screen appeared reporting that the Canadian singer, Justin Bieber, had died in a car crash.

Google, which owns YouTube, said that it had fixed the problem "about two hours" after it was discovered.

YouTube gets hacked.

Members of the Internet communities 4chan and others hacked YouTube using a vulnerability in the site’s comment system. Hack was used on a variety of videos, striking music videos featuring teen pop idol Justin Bieber was the most popular activity.

Twitter was flooded with complaints about the problem, Google support got some concerned posts on its forum, and we received tips in our inbox. The event caused quite a Sunday-morning stir.

The bug allowed users to inject HTML (the code that most websites are built with) that could be executed on the site, whereas HTML within comments is supposed to be restricted. The hackers did everything from force pop-up messages to appear over the site declaring that it had been hacked to redirecting Bieber video pages to sites hosting pornography and malware.

A security flaw in AT&T's network exposed the e-mail addresses of more than 100,000 owners of Apple's 3G iPad, according to a report published by Gawker today.

Calling it the "most exclusive e-mail list on the planet," Gawker said the list of exposed owners included New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and other powerful figures in finance, media and politics.

The security hole was uncovered by Goatse Security, a group known among security experts as hackers who enjoy pulling Web pranks, Gawker reported. Still, the group previously has uncovered flaws in browsers Firefox and Safari, Gawker said.
