Pak spirtual leader openly offers Mosque fund money worth Rs. 5 lakhs for killing Christian Women

A Hardliner controversial Muslim cleric of an historic mosque of Pakistan's Khyber Paktunkhwa province has offered to pay 5 lakh rupees from Mosque fund for killing Asia Bibi, a Christian woman who was recently sentenced to death by a court for allegedly committing blasphemy.

Maulana Yusaf Qureshi, the imam of the well-known Mohabat Khan mosque, announced the reward for killing Asia Bibi during his sermon at the Friday prayers.

He announced that he would pay the money to the person who killed "blasphemor Asia Bibi". The payment would be made from the mosque's fund, he said.

Several Hindus were attacked and forced out of their homes in Pakistan's southern Sindh province after a boy of the community drank water from a cooler outside a mosque.

About 60 Hindu men, women and children were recently forced to abandon their homes at Memon Goth in Karachi, the capital of Sindh, after influential tribesmen of the area objected to the boy drinking water.

"All hell broke loose when my son, Dinesh drank water from a cooler outside a mosque. Upon seeing him do that, the people of the area started beating him up," a Hindu man named Meerumal told The News daily.

"Later, around 150 tribesmen attacked us, injuring seven of our people who were taken to the Jinnah Hospital," he said.

Now Pakistan follows the Chinese way, Censor the Internet.

Pakistan will start monitoring seven major websites, including Google and Yahoo, for content it deems offensive to Muslims.

YouTube, Amazon, MSN, Hotmail and Bing will also come under scrutiny, while 17 less well-known sites will be blocked.

A Pakistani court has reportedly ordered a ban on nine leading websites, including Google and Hotmail, for allegedly posting blasphemous material though officials today said they had not received any instruction to block the sites.

Media reports said the Bahawalpur bench of the Lahore High Court yesterday directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to immediately block nine websites, including Google, Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, YouTube, Bing and Amazon, for publishing and promoting sacrilegious and blasphemous material.

Justice Mazher Iqbal Sidhu issued the order while hearing a petition filed by a man named Muhammad Sidiq who claimed these websites were publishing sacrilegious material.

After Facebook, YouTube, Pakistan blocks Twitter.

After blocking Facebook and Youtube, Pakistani authorities today further widened the crackdown on websites with blasphemous contents by restricting access to popular social networking website Twitter.

Pakistani users were unable to log into Twitter after internet service providers blocked access to the site.

When users tried to log into site, there browsers displayed a message that said "this site is restricted." Over the past two days, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has blocked websites like Facebook and Youtube, citing "sacrilegious contents" on the websites as the reason for the action.

The crackdown began after the Lahore High Court issued an order for blocking Facebook over a page hosting a contest for blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Mohammad. Over 450 URLs have been blocked so far by the authorities.
